Microtron provides both industrial hardware and electronic components as well as complete technical solutions. Depending on the project, we provide services including consultancy, project management, configuration, assembly, software support, on-site integration, installation, testing, training, and maintenance. You can therefore come to us for a single component, but also for guidance from concept to delivery.
Yes. You do not need to come to Microtron with a fully developed set of specifications or a ready-made hardware configuration to Microtron . Together, we map out the technical specifications, operational requirements, and the available budget. For more complex projects, we can also validate the technical feasibility with a prototype, proof of technology or proof of concept.
Microtron works for organizations in industrial automation, the security industry, agriculture and horticulture, defense, and transport and logistics. Our solutions are used for machine integration, process automation, monitoring, computer vision, communication, and mobile or rugged computer systems in demanding environments.
Microtron is a brand-independent specialist in industrial computers, industrial electronics, and customized technological solutions. We support organizations with analysis and design, hardware selection, configuration and assembly, AI and software solutions, integration, installation, testing, training, and maintenance. This allows Microtron to both supply individual products and manage complete technical projects.
Yes. Microtron combines configurable standard products with customization when the application requires it. This can involve a specific hardware configuration, assembly, software integration, a prototype, or proof of concept and extensive validation. With a Fixed Bill of Materials we lock in configurations so that changes, service, and repeat orders remain manageable. Customization, therefore, without reinventing the wheel every time.
A partnership with Microtron typically proceeds in six steps:
- analysis of the application and technical requirements;
- customized proposal and cost estimate;
- prototyping and validation, when necessary;
- configuration and assembly;
- integration, installation, and thorough testing;
- training, support, and maintenance.
The specific approach is tailored to the scope, complexity, and phase of the project.
Yes. Microtron offers technical support throughout the entire lifecycle of a solution. Our services include preventive maintenance, repairs, inventory management, extended warranty, and support for end-of-life components. Support is available both remotely and on-site. For returns and repairs, Microtron also provides a separate RMA portal.
Yes. Microtron integrates industrial computers, electronics, software, and AI solutions into existing machines, systems, and infrastructures. During the analysis, we examine the technical and operational requirements of the existing environment. After integration, we test the functionality and can provide training for the employees involved to ensure the new system is used and managed correctly.
Companies choose Microtron due to the combination of a brand-independent approach, technical expertise, and more than 45 years of experience. We guide projects from analysis and design to installation, training, and maintenance. With sector-specific solutions, a Fixed Bill of Materials and ISO 9001-certified operations, we focus on reliability, continuity, and long-term support.
You can discuss a technical question or project via the contact form, by email at info@microtron.eu or by telephone. For Belgium, please call +32 15 29 29 29. For the Netherlands, the number is +31 40 369 08 69.
Please preferably provide a brief description of the application, the existing environment, the desired performance, the quantities, and the planned timing. Even if not everything is finalized yet, our specialists can help further define the requirements.

An industrial computer (Industrial PC or IPC) is specifically designed for use in demanding environments such as factories, warehouses, machine building, and logistics. Unlike a standard office PC, an industrial computer is resistant to dust, vibrations, temperature fluctuations, and continuous use. Furthermore, many industrial computers are fanless (designed without a fan), making them low-maintenance and ensuring a long service life.
A standard office PC is designed for use in a clean office environment and is typically used for a few hours a day. An industrial computer is built for 24/7 operation under harsh conditions. This includes higher reliability, longer availability of the same model, extensive I/O capabilities (such as serial ports and digital I/O), and support for industrial operating systems.
A fanless computer is ideal when reliability and minimal maintenance are important. Since there is no fan, no dust can be sucked in, and there are fewer moving parts that can wear out. As a result, fanless systems are particularly suitable for industrial automation, production environments, and machine control.
That depends on your application. For simple machine control or HMI applications, an Intel Atom or Intel N-series is often sufficient. For more demanding software, vision applications or AI, powerful Intel Core i5, i7, or i9 processors, AMD Ryzen processors, or Intel Core Ultra processors with built-in AI acceleration (NPU) are a better choice. Our specialists will be happy to assist you in selecting the right configuration.
Yes. Industrial computers are designed for continuous operation and are widely used in production environments where machinery is active day and night. By utilizing high-quality components, these systems are suitable for years of reliable use.
A key advantage of industrial computers is their long product lifecycle. Many models remain available for five to ten years or even longer. As a result, you do not need to switch to a new platform immediately when performing expansions or service.
When a manufacturer declares a product End-of-Life, this is announced well in advance. Often, there is still a Last Time Buy period during which products can be ordered. Additionally, we assist in selecting a suitable successor model to ensure migrations proceed as smoothly as possible.
Yes. Virtually all industrial computers support Microsoft Windows and various Linux distributions such as Ubuntu. Which version is suitable depends on the hardware used and the software you wish to run.
SSD storage is currently the standard within industrial computers due to its high speed and reliability. For applications where large amounts of data are processed, an NVMe SSD can offer extra performance.
An industrial power supply converts mains voltage (AC) into a stable direct current (DC) for industrial equipment such as PLCs, industrial computers, HMIs, sensors, and other automation components. Industrial power supplies are designed for continuous use and offer high reliability, even in demanding environments.
Industrial power supplies are developed for long-term and reliable use under harsh conditions. They offer higher efficiency, better protection against overload, short circuits, and overvoltage, and are resistant to greater temperature fluctuations. Additionally, industrial power supplies often have a longer lifespan and extensive certifications.
Most industrial applications use 24 VDC, as this is the standard within industrial automation. Depending on the application, 5 V, 12 V, 48 V, or other output voltages are also available.
Add up the maximum power consumption of all connected devices and, in addition, maintain approximately 20 to 30% reserve capacity. This ensures the power supply remains within its optimal operating range and allows room for future expansions.
A power supply that continuously operates at its maximum capacity generates more heat and may wear out faster. By maintaining sufficient reserve power, reliability is improved and the lifespan of the power supply is extended.
Continuous power is the power that a power supply can deliver indefinitely. Peak power is the higher power available for a short period, for example, during the startup of motors or other loads with a high inrush current.

Continuous power is the power that a power supply can deliver permanently. Peak power is the higher power available for a short period, for example during the startup of motors or other loads with a high inrush current.
A DIN rail power supply is specifically designed for mounting on a DIN rail within a control cabinet. This is the most commonly used solution in industrial automation due to its simple installation, reliability, and compact design.
Yes. Industrial power supplies are designed for continuous use and are applied worldwide in production environments, logistics systems, mechanical engineering, and process automation.
